Day 01: Nairobi Abardare

Pick up from your hotel at 0800 hrs – Passing through the industrial town of Thika and the intensely cultivated farms of the central Kenya. Lunch at the Out span hotel Nyeri before transferring to the Treetops hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the Treetops hotel.

 

Day 02: Abardare Samburu
After breakfast depart for Samburu passing through hush farmlands, cross the Equator where you can stop for pictures. Proceed to Samburu to a rugged semi desert region. It is noted for game not found to the more lush parks to the south e.g. unusual reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Oryx and many more. Lunch at a lodge followed by afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight at samburu sopa lodge

Day 03: Samburu Game Reserve
Full day at Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives.
A wide variety of animal and bird life seen at Samburu Game Reserve. Several species are considered unique to the region, including its unique dry-country animal life: All three big cats, lion, cheetah and leopard, can be found here, as well as elephants, buffalos,Uaso Nyiro river contains large numbers of Nile crocodile.Other mammals frequently seen in the park include gerenuk, Grant's gazelle, Kirk's dik-dik, impala, waterbuck, Grevy's zebra, Beisa oryx and reticulated

giraffe
Over 400 species of bird. These include Somali ostrich, grey-headed kingfisher, sunbirds, bee-eaters, marabou stork, tawny eagle, bateleur, vulturine guineafowl, lilac-breasted roller, palm nut vulture, red-billed hornbill, secretary bird, Verreaux's eagle, superb starling, yellow-billed hornbill and vultures.

 

Day 04: Samburu -Sweet Waters

Today you drive to the exotic Sweetwaters Game Reserve, now “Ol Pejeta Conservancy” a 90,000 acre private ranch between the foot hills of the Abedares and the magnificent snowcapped Mount Kenya. The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains guarantees an unforgettable safari experience!
Sweetwaters Tented Camp set in the pristine calm of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy offers a charming blend of under-canvas ambiance and safari luxury.
Its popular waterhole is floodlit by night, providing excellent game viewing including the big five. The reserve comprises extensive savannah grasslands and the riverine forests that border the Ewaso Nyiro River. Sweetwaters excels in private game viewing and is Mt Kenya region’s best kept secret. Game rides on horseback or perched atop camels within the sanctuary is a unique experience. You will spend the entire day exploring the ranch. In the afternoon you will visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 05:Sweet Waters  -Lake Nakuru
After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru. Arrival will be in time for lunch at your lodge. Afternoon game drive
The park supports a wide ecological diversity with Flamingos (Greater and Lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhino and buffaloes and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species.

 

Day 06 :Lake Nakuru Masai Mara
Drive through the Rift Valley to Masai Mara to arrive in good time for lunch.
Late afternoon game drives followed by dinner and overnight stay at Mara Serena lodge

Day 07 :Masai Mara National Reserve
Full day spent exploring the park in search of the big 5- Optional balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 450 per person.

When visiting the Masai Mara you are likely to see the famous Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. Especially lions are common here, and have grown relatively accustomed to their two-legged visitors, which makes them easier to spot. The Mara Plains are teeming with wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, impala and Thomson's gazelle. Also cheetahs, hyenas and jackals are seen regularly in the reserve. In the Mara River large amounts of hippos and crocodiles are enjoying their lives - the crocodiles are especially happy in July and November when thousands of wildebeest migrate across the river causing a sumptuous feast for the hungry crocodiles. Birdlife in Maasai Mara are abundant and diverse. Species such as eagles, ostriches, storks and vultures are among the more than 50 different birds of prey.

Day 08. Masai Mara - Nairobi
